The Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (TCA) gives the FDA broad authority to regulate tobacco product manufacturing, distribution, and marketing. Although a vast and sound science base exists with regard to numerous areas of the TCA, new research will provide scientific evidence in several areas. Research is encouraged in the following scientific domains.

Research supported by FDA's Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) informs regulatory and public education efforts aimed at improving the overall health of the public and may also provide data about the impact of these efforts. On this website, search for research projects funded by CTP starting in Fiscal Year (FY) 2010 using the search box. New projects are added on a regular basis.
